Question:
If the hubs are round, will they properly heat a rectangular or square pan?

Answer:

Yes.

Feel free to place a square or rectangular pan on the round hub. The hub is designed to generate enough heat to heat the whole pan even if sticks out from the round shape, similarly to a gas hub.

Question:

Can you place the HotMat directly on marble/ Caesar surfaces? The surface heats up after prolonged use.

Answer:

Generally, marble manufacturers do not recommend placing warming trays directly on the marble. Laboratory tests demonstrate that the maximum heat reaching the surface below the HotMat is 60 degrees Celsius - hot, but not dangerous to the marble. However, since each material has different properties, we cannot guarantee marble protection. To ensure no marble damage, we recommend surface insulation, such as the Insulator Cork Surface sold on this website.
